I need help to display a confirmation message after the contents of a form have been inserted into an SQL Database.

I know you can embed a javascript alert message within ASP
e.g

Respond.Write("<SCRIPT Language='JavaScript'>")
Respond.Write("alert ('The Record has been successfully saved..')")
Respond.Write("</SCRIPT>")

I just don't knoe where to place it or what event can call it.
