Hi all.

I have a label in a grid that shows the status of a request. It will either show Active or Inactive, depending on if they have submitted one or not. If they haven't, then I want it to default to None.

It is on a grid with two tables as the source. Classlist (list of students) and withdrawn_requests (a list of students that have withdrawn requests). THe label pulls from the status field of the withdrawn_requests table.

tried putting "None" in the Default Value for the label but it didn't work.

You are going to have the correct join for your query ( look for information on LEFT JOIN and RIGHT JOIN ). You will need a query that displays all records from the Classlist table regardless if there is a matching record in the withdrawn_requests table. Once you have displayed all records you can key off the Active/Inactive field the desired results. Hope this helps.
