I'm still having problems.

Wird stuff, simple stuff, stuff that used to work fine!

I've used CC/CCS for over 6 years I have 3 versions running on different machines and a version of CC original. Cos I have problems everytime I upgrade.

To all those thinking about buying CCS.. It's great!, but I find upgrading very problematic so beware!

I spend months and in some cases years maintaining projects and I can't afford to rebuild everytime I want to upgrade.

I wish YES could fix my problem cos I luv CCS.

If only there was an alternative...

I've gone back to 3.1 for now.

Tony,

Are you aware of the patch that they finally released for 3.2? I don't know about fixing any style problems (I haven't hit that yet) but it does correct a couple of other issues including messed up sorters due to problems in the common.asp file....

BTW, I agree, I too love CCS - it has made my life much easier and usually works great!

Good luck!

Hi mlj

I am using the latest 3.2.0.2, but it's still not right.

I was recently asked to review CCS by a company commissioned by YES.

I said everything was great, but CSS was a nightmare, I am a visual communicator, design and style are a very important part of my projects. So I want full control over the look 'n' feel.
The styles included in CCS are fine but I want things my way. This version appears to have a big problem with CSS, try removing the style on a page. My version insists on putting a boarder around a table no matter how many times I change it.

What I'd realy like would to be able to create styles in StyleMaster or similar and then apply them to a project. But I don't think that will happen based on my experience of 3.2.

I'm determined to try tp work with CCS cos of all the years I've invested in it, but if I could find a better solution I'd use it.

Looks like ur suffering like me.

I was attracted to CC because I could connect a DB to web content, I ended up doimg a whole lot more, but I'm still a designer. How I communicate content and the way a user interacts with an application is critical to me. Great backend functions mean nothing if the user can't or wont use the system. The look'n'feel is as important as the code that drives it.

I want as much control as possible not less.

I'm still using 3.1, but I'm looking around at other tools now - what a shame:-(

:-(, I confirm same problems but with Java and Styles. The common problem seems to be when you have custom styles and fonts and it appears not to understand styles and buttons. Some scripting errors as well.

I do not bother with purchasing support to resolve CCS's own problems. I have full multiple backup methods and will downgrade to 3.1 and not use 3.202

This, in my book , is a big blunder by CCS ref their testing methodology.

The CCS product, when stable, is still the best but I have always thought that the weakness lay in the complexity and depth of their testing.

This problem will bite with many people so I expect that they are tearing their hair out ATM - it will get fixed, no doubt, but you have to take releases with a bucket of salt and have full backups.

3.2.0.2 should have gone out as beta considering the changes.

Keep with it and use the version 3.1 then ignore any CCS version update notification until you see some sanity returning in these forums. Some project damage may result when downgrading CCS but I started this project in 3.1 anyway and will take the hit.

Even with 3.2.0.1 problems will force you to keep to using standard fonts else you get Font_User.xml errors with buttons and custom font sizes. BTW: Alt+C for Cancel, while clicking the 'contact support' dialog OK button, gets you out of the eternal loop in the scheme designer.

Keep with it.

Regards

Anton
