I have a standard update form that has an associated grid of child files. This is the Master-Gild Page. The Master Files is displayed as a grid and record on a separate page.

On the Master-Child Page , I want the user to update the master record without the record field clearing for inserting a new record. Currently, pressing submit submits new values and clears the record, ready for a new insert.

How can I achieve this result?

Thanks

Russell

Dou you, after pressing submit,
want the form to be ready for (update) changing the just inserted record?
OR
want the Form to be ready for a new INSERT with the fields pre-filled with
the values of the just inserted record?

Hi

I am doing inserts and deletes of the master record on a separate page, which has a Master Grid and an associated Record , built using the Grid and Record Builder. I use a link on the Master Grid to get to the Master-Child Page, which is the one in question.

On the Master-Child Page, the Master Record is editable, but inserts and deletes are not allowed. The child grid is edit in place.

To answer your question, I want the first option, in that I want the Master record form to be ready for updating.

Thanks

Russell
