Hello,
I'm sure we've all noticed that if you create a complicated codecharge page, with a number of grids, records etc, filesizes can end up quite large. Quite often you will see 100k + .PHP files.
Does anyone know of useful techniques for reducing the size of generated PHP files, removing unnecessary code etc??
Cheers,
Moose.

You can use an encrypter/encoder to squish down the sizes.
It makes for faster pages.
See http://www.ioncube.com/sa_encoder.php?us http://www.nusphere.com/download.php.ide.htm http://www.zend.com/store/software/zend_guard

You may also want to add this to the WISHES forum as well. This might be a feature that would be good to have for future purposes.

Yeah... will do. I've been reading many forums about the subject, it looks like the programs suggested above may actually slow the website down due to extra processing power required to uncompress secured PHP files. Nusphere, looks like the only one that might speed things up significantly, but that requires access to php.ini, which unless you have root access to your webserver, you won't be able to edit.
I'll keep lookin!

well my sample tests with ioncube were actually faster than normal website..
Although, not a conclusive test since it was just me hitting website. A better test would be to do more loading with multiple users hitting site.
