I'm thinking about either using a record for updating/inserting/deleting or editable grid builder, but I don't know what are the advantages/disadvantages or primary applications for an editable grild builder. Is it a worthy hybrid or alternative to using forms for submitting?

grid is for displaying multiple records (each with multiple fields)
editable grid is same except is also allows editing/adding in place of each record's fields and then a single submit action causes all to be updated/added.

I use editable grids to have teachers update testing site locations for ten students at a time.
Only drawback is if they don't update before going to the next page on the grid... data does not get saved.
