Hi Everyone,

I'm using a host that only allows for MSSQL and MySQL. The version of MySQL
is 4.1 which does not support Stored Procedures.

How is CSS using PHP (support, performance, ...) under IIS & MSSQL?

Thanks.

We have commercial web sites generated for PHP 4 and PHP 5 intended for running on a PHP extended IIS and MS SQL.

We are using ODBC (db_odbc.php) to connect to SQL Server in that case.

I'm not aware of any serious difference on performance compared to other infrstructures.

Michael,

Thanks ... I got it working fine with ODBC. Sadly my hosting company does
not allow ODBC :(

I don't understand why the MSSQL driver does not work. I create an
application in ASP or ASP.Net and it works without any problems. Any idea
on how to use the MSSQL and hot to setup the PHP.INI? here is what I have:

mssql
MSSQL Support enabled
Active Persistent Links 0
Active Links 0
Library version 7.0

Directive Local Value Master Value
mssql.allow_persistent On On
mssql.batchsize 0 0
mssql.compatability_mode Off Off
mssql.connect_timeout 5 5
mssql.datetimeconvert On On
mssql.max_links Unlimited Unlimited
mssql.max_persistent Unlimited Unlimited
mssql.max_procs Unlimited Unlimited
mssql.min_error_severity 10 10
mssql.min_message_severity 10 10
mssql.secure_connection Off Off
mssql.textlimit Server default Server default
mssql.textsize Server default Server default
mssql.timeout 60 60

Sorry, I do not know how to use db_mssql.php under Windows.

One thought in regard to ODBC.
There is usually a difference if you require ODBC on the webserver itself or external ODBC which would allow to connect to your database via ODBC from everywhere.
The first one should be found more often.

I understand. Both hosting companies I use will not allow ODBC. I can use
it on my development machines but will need the direct drive solutions when
in production.

Thanks. If anyone has any other idea ...
