Hope you can forgive the basic nature of these questions... I've just inherited a PHP site which has areas built with CCS 3.1. Mods & tweaks are needed, I know nothing of CCS, and the client doesn't have the project source.
Without possessing source project file(s), are we able to use CCS over this site? - i.e. is CCS by any chance able to re-create a project by 'reading' generated files?
A complication being that the site was built with 3.1, and we'd be buying v4. Or will we have to do hand-edits.
There's a remote chance the client may be able to obtain the CCS source from whoever built the CCS areas of the site. If they can get the source, will 4.0 be able to import a 3.1 project OK? Or will I be facing a lot of debugging.
Thanks for your time folks. Any help would be much appreciated.

Most important is you have the project file .ccp
If you do not have that you are out in the cold.
If you do have the project file, next thing is to 'ftp-get' the running
website sources.
These will include the _event.php files as well as the .php/html files that
make up the pages.
If all the above is met, you are in a good starting position.

Many thanks Walter, its appreciated. The client is trying to obtain the project file so I'll take it from there, but now we have something to go on, so thanks again,
Bill

And of course I am available to help you migrate up to V4.
If you do not have 3.x available.
