If your database implements it, a 'fulltext' index is generally more
flexible and simpler to use. MySQL does have this sort of indexing. It's
fast and vey 'google-like' in the way you express your search keywords.

this is more specific to MySQL ...

my code was simple replacement for very limited search in CCS ... :-)
and does not require to much changes on current projects and should work with any DB ...

also it can be expanded with more options ...

i do like the feature BOOLEAN MODE this does not require indexing ....
