Hi All,
We have great news for all script developers (ASP and PHP) who have a need to learn and develop some ASP.NET applications - whether due to your company or client's requirements, or if you simply want to learn ASP.NET for your own benefit, etc.
YesSoftware and UltraApps.com has just made available a release-candidate of new version 4.0 of the Issue Manager Enhanced ( http://www.ultraapps.com/app_overview.php?app_id=21 ) in ASP.NET/C# , utilizing the InMotion Framework. This project also requires standard version of CCS (not Personal Edition) and MS SQL Server or the free MS SQL Server Express database. MS Access support may also be available in the future.
What's great about it is that the custom code looks very clean and simple, easy to learn and modify, modularized, and at least for me quite similar to PHP. I did some bug fixing and code review and already feel like an ASP.NET expert, while not being a hardcore coder and never before dealing much with ASP.NET. There are also many great code samples for various situations: multiple file uploads, project-based security, user profile management, using email templates, modular development similar to Joomla, using Ajax Update Panels, etc.
If like myself you ever dreaded ASP.NET coding, this little application can simplify your life tremendously. I even believe you soon may be able to implement powerful ASP.NET applications faster and easier than with ASP or PHP.
