Hi,
You may convert Web applications to Web2 (Ajax) applications with just a few step with this very small and simple javascript code.
You can get detail info about this code and download it at http://code.google.com/p/conv2ajax/
Best regards.

yusufakyol,
thank you very much for sharing your solution!
It works very good and I have already used it on one of the static html templates for displaying FAQs from MySql with a help of CCS generated page.
It was super easy.

Thanks. Can you provide a link to a site somewhere that demonstrates how this looks after applying your scripts?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm very sorry that conv2ajax was working only at http://localhost. I just noticed. Now new version of conv2ajax (V:1.1) works at all domains. http://code.google.com/p/conv2ajax/
Best regards.

Forgive me, but I'm going to ask a probably -very- stupid question.
I just looked at the ASP web site and here's the question: Exactly -what- is it that makes it 'web2'? IOW: What is functionally different from a typical ASP application?
Thanks,
---JC

Hi,
You have many advantages... For example; one of them is, you don't need add header, footer, left and right panes to all programs in your application.
There are more advantages: That is, I suggest you to learn what is Ajax, why applications are being converting to ajax. And my js library may help you to develop new applications with less effort with half an ajax and half an ordinary way, I think and hope. Otherwise I didn't think to convert current applications to ajax.
Best regards.

Thanks.
I understand the -basics- of Ajax. I guess I'm having trouble seeing what makes your demo project fundamentally different from a regular ASP.
IOW: With other Ajax systems, I've seen features like partial page refresh and controls that respond more like a Windows app. I guess it seems like the demo is more -cosmetic-.
I don't mean disrespect, I'm probably not being observant. Can you point out how it's different from the ASP in terms of functionality that the -user- would see.
Thanks,
---JC

the demo appears to implement Ajax for all forum functions. notice that when you read a message, add a new message, return to the home page, etc. there is never a page refresh.
HOWEVER, this is also an illustration of what can be wrong with Ajax. this example breaks the BACK button functionality of the web site. notice that you can add messages, read messages, etc. but no matter how much you do in the demo, if you click the BACK button you do not go to the last thing you were looking at rather you go to the page before you launched the forum page. this has always been one of the major complaints about Flash (arguably the first Ajax tool!)
I'm not criticizing yusufakyol...it is an excellent example. but when planning a web application you need to balance the benefits of Ajax against the drawbacks of breaking browser functionality. some things, like autofill and dependent listboxes are natural Ajax candidates since there is no need to go BACK to the autofill before it was autofilled. but when you are loading whole new screens/pages you have to be concerned with things like breaking the BACK function.
