Do you think to develop a MAC version (OSX) of CodeCharge?
I think that there are many Web developers using OSX and then I think it is a good market to be conquered, because there are other instruments similar to yours.
Why not start planning a release of the software for OSX? Why not entrusted development companies, if you did not know how to do it alone.
Thank you for your interest any of this proposal

I doubt you'll see this any time soon. the market is just too small.

I think that the web developers who use OSX are higher than those who use Windows and are still a significant number.
Also be the first with a product like this, it would monopolize the market in this area

I think you'd find something like 90-95% Windows vs 5-10% OSX even among web developers. And probably not a lot of graphic designers use CodeCharge!

IMHO, it is too small of an area to care about monopolizing!
one more thing, developing/maintaining/supporting a tool like CCS for dual platforms is a very complicated task. its like two completely different products. I am already in awe of Yes for outputting so many launguage options. but diverting resources to support OSX would be a mistake. I'd rather they work on fixing issues in CCS 4.0 and adding new features!
(just my opinions of course!)

I agree also.. however I would pay double for a native MACOSX CCS to be able to run native or just dump my pc version and buy a new one for MAC.... its parsing code from library's and assembling, and allowing you to edit these assemblies I don't see it being that big of a deal other then a front end have to be built up from scratch.. being available only to Intel Macs I say its probably not as hard.. many PC only apps are coming to INTel macs now. Maybe it could happen one day. Maybe only certain versions as well would make this a reality.. I can see ASP.NET (C#), ASP,versions not being available.. everything else natively runs on a mac out of the box..
CCS is the only reason I got VMWare Fusion for my mac and as it runs just fine.. it would scream being native...
just my 2cents...

I think a 50% of web developers use OSX.

If you look on the internet so many companies (small and large), which develops software for OSX

Right, for this could pernsare to develop a conversion module to an external company.
Why Adobe (ex Macromedia) develop for windows and OSX?
You think that Adobe develop software (ie dreamweaver) also for OSX knowing that losing money?
Nothing is easy, even develop a software codecharge for windows. I do not see other companies that developed software that is approached codecharge features.
These does not mean it is impossible to consult an expert OSX developer and see if the software can ported.

I'd love to see any sort of statistic you can provide to support a 50% OSX use among web developers! I'd say your 50% estimate is not even close!! check the stats for W3Schools,
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp
The majority of their traffic is web developers, designers, etc. so this should be a decent metric. They show only 4.4% Mac users as compared to more than 87% Windows.
And to your point about Adobe, they sell a LOT more software than Yes and with their volume it makes sense to support a minor OS. But take a walk down the software aisle at your local computer store and its easy to see which OS won the war. (Not because Windows is better I might add because I too love the Mac and have used one off and on since the early '90s.)
As a professional developer I have already resigned myself to the fact that the Windows OS is the dominant one by far and therefore I adjust to be able to use the tools and have the widest set of options for my toolkit. For a company like Yes to add support for such a minor OS would, IMO, seriously detract from what I would consider their primary mission which is to provide me with the best, most up-to-date tools possible. If adding Mac support only required their developers to invest one week of time I'd still prefer they use that week to add new functionality or improve the current product!
my opinions only! your mileage may vary.

I do not know how to write in English very well and I apologise if I can not understand me.
I did not say that 50% of people or web surfers use OSX, I said that in my opinion the 50% of web developers using OSX.
YES should not look to computer users, but the web developers !

but as I said, the statistics I gave you ARE for web developers, not regular web surfers. your english is just fine...it is your "50% of web developers use Mac" statistic that is not believable!

Just to temper discussions:
The original post is a valid post for the Wishes Forum.
As to target markets, I have to agree to further developing CCS to reach near-perfect state as opposed to developing for a new OS.
