I'm trying to update some hidden columns on an editable grid if the user selects a value in a drop down. I'm using the event "on validate row". It gets into the event but the new value is being ignored when I do a SetValue in PHP. has anyone used this event in the editable grid?

I would suggest that you look at the Before Submit Event because this occurs on processing every row.
