Stan, you make some great suggestions. Starting with the existing CCS docs would be a good way to get this started.

but I must admit I still have some reservations about the potential for success with this. my concerns are,

- can a user-supported wiki work for such a complex product?

- Walter was kind enough to set this up 15 days ago but no one has added anything so far

- would Yes allow us to use their docs as a starting point?

- Yes has stated they are in the process of creating their own wiki; would ours co-exist with theirs? be integrated one-time when theirs launches?

I certainly don't mean to sound negative but I am reluctant to invest time in a project like this until I know the effort will be worthwhile. There may even be a handful of folks who (unlike me :)) would be willing to put great effort into getting this started but could they sustain that effort long-term and/or encourage enough others to also invest significant time and effort to keep this viable and useful?

At the end of the day it is Yes who has the proper level of self-interest in the product to ensure it is well-documented and up-to-date. Their fortunes rise and fall with the quality of the product and, to a lesser degree but still significantly, with the documentation.

And with all that said, I'd just like to re-summarize my original post which is I feel the CCS documentation needs more attention from Yes regardless of whether we or they create a wiki!!!

Will be hard, covering all the language and Database flavours.

- Walter was kind enough to set this up 15 days ago but no one has added anything so far
As I noticed..........

- would Yes allow us to use their docs as a starting point?
Peterr, made reference:

Well, I believe YesSoftware would promote its official documentation system, especially if full CCS documentation would be moved to such new location. Although we've already had delays with starting this project and I'm not sure when it will actually launch.

However, any content can be merged or copied between different systems, therefore nothing needs to be lost if another wiki is launched.
Keep in mind that we also have the "Tips & Solutions" forum with community contributed content. (possibly it can be re-organized later in relation to the documentation thus creating an initial wiki content)

Which I interpret as (Dutch method: gedogen) condone..........

- Yes has stated they are in the process of creating their own wiki; would ours co-exist with theirs? be integrated one-time when theirs launches?
Integration is possible, I will certainly support such an idea, and our Wiki can co-exist until the other is better at which point it probably dies out as slow as it is starting now.

Me too......

I have to admit that , for an average user, documentation is MUCH TOO POOR
(ajax,...)

It is really a pity , because the product is great

but since they do not product anny effort ,I think I shall quit this product and go to dreamweaver or netbeans

I am confused: you are going to to dump a product because there is a learning curve but can do what you want , and replace it with one that can't any of it even if the docs are good?

Dreamweaver is not an either/or with CC Studio, they do different tasks and compliment each other.

Stan is right! I use Dreamweaver AND CCS but neither one would replace the other
