Link component does not hide?

Hi there; I have been experiencing odd behavior with CCS 4.0.0.3 & ASP/VBS
The component fails to go visible=false; the component fails to behave as a component; e.g.

Response.Write Link1.href

or

Response.Write Link1.Value

Returns an error 'object required', other times 'variable undefined'

Does anyone experiencing same things?
