The app I'm working on will be used in the US and Australia initially.

I tried setting the Format for a date field to 'ShortDate'. I thought that this would then use the user's computer settings, but it's not working.

Problem 1: If I enter 1/8/1981 (in Australia):
-- it saves the date as Jan 8 1981 - it should be Aug 1 1981. Aussie ShortDate is d/m/yy.

Problem 2: If I enter 1/8/81, or 01-08-1981:
-- I get an error when I <Submit>: "The value in field DOB is not valid. Use the following format: ShortDate."

How can I format this? I've set Project Settings > Locales > Date Display Format to 'ShortDate', which gives as its example '1/8/81', but I can't enter it in that format regardless.

I've resolved a couple of other date issues by searching the forum posts and the CCS docs, but I haven't been able to work the above out yet. Any ideas please?
