Re: Error:pCXCConverter->backTransformationWithDOM failed is anyone else experiencing this error when working with php?

I am unable to modify forms by adding textboxes. I have to pull in loads of fields when building a form and then adapt them as required. It is impossible to add fields later as this error crops up and cripples the form, removal of an added field does not then recover the form.

The issue was reported to support 3/31/2008 7:27:52 AM and still remains 'under investigation'. The error persists despite removing and reinstalling CCS 4.04 and is present on creating new projects. Effectively the product is broken. Am I being unreasonable to be feeling a bit hacked off at the delay in fixing this? How prevalent is this issue amongst php users?

This issue was raised during beta testing.

I was getting this too Error:pCXCConverter->backTransformationWithDOM failed and submitted a support request. It happened to me 4 times in one day. I had rebooted in between also. Good or bad, I have not been able to repeat this since then but worried that it is lurking and will get me sometime again.
Support has a way to 'log' more robust detail if you can make this repeatable.

This is a constant problem with ASP.NET C# / InMotion Framework as well.

This is reproduceable whenever I do as described in my original post. It seems to have arrived with 4.04 ! Nice update!!

I have this happening as well... seems to be 4.04 related.

Using PHP 5.x... does not happen all the time, but quite often. very frustrating when one has been working on a form for a while, and then ccs tells you it's trashed.

Is there a way to fix a form that this has happened to other than re-creating it?

I can't make it consistently happen yet but it reappears once in a while.
And I found no way to recover from it.
I save often now!!!

I am told by support that it is a difficult problem as it is hard consistently to replicate it. I did not have the problem before version 4 (v4.00.00.04) and I can get it to do this all too easily. That is why I opt to load all fields into a form and then adapt them and delete those eventually not required.

Once it happens the form cannot be recovered so I save regular copies of working forms and don't delete any unused fields until I am sure I won't need them. Its a sort of work around. It seems only to occur when adding a text or textarea field, checkboxes and radio buttons seem ok though that may just be good luck.

Support are aware of the problem and have had my report since the beginning of last week. They are aware other users have the problem but have not indicated how many.

The issue appears to have been resolved with a modified dll that I have been sent. I am using php so do not know if the fix applies to other languages as I don't know exactly what the dll does.

If you have a similar problem it would be worth contacting support quoting the error message at the head of this thread.

You should go through to support as you may find the new dll sorts out the problem.

I'll do that. However, I would think / hope that an update will be in place soon... ;-)

I just got hit by the same error.

I emailed support for the dll and am awaiting a reply but is there still no way to recover the corrupted page?

Pain in the butt! I've got a few days left with the trial version and I'm trying to complete a basic app to show my boss so I can convince him to let me buy the software. This just put me back a day.

Thanks

Hi

This problem still exists as of today. I was supplied a new DLL from Yes but it did not fix the problem.

I have found several cases where this problem has occurred. It seems there are many conditions that cuase this failure.

I sent a project t where I can reliably recreate the problem to Helen for investigation. I do hope this is incuded in the new release coming out soon.

Next week I heard.

Take Care
