Greetings. I purchased the soft a few days ago and is exelent! Im trying to learn some things. This is probably easy to achieve, but Im not sure how to do it:

I built a report that lists users. I want each user on the report to be a link to another report that will show saved messages from that user on the database. How can I generate that link and pass the user id?

Thanks ahead!

Have a look at "Simple Master-Detail for Employees/Projects" in the CCS Example Pack, for some ideas. It works on the same principle that you need.

Basically, your link in 'ReportUsers' should have properties like:
Href Source: ReportMessages.ccp

On the right-hand side of this href property, click on the elipsis (...) which opens a dialog box with more specific properties for the href source.

Click the Parameters tab, then "+" to add a parameter such as:
Source Type: DataSource Column
Parameter Source: user_id (or whatever your field is called)
Parameter Name: whatever you like, eg UID

The link will now be constructed like this when you run the page:
<a href="ReportMessages.ccp?UID=76543">

The second step is to filter your Grid in ReportMessages.ccp, by adding a URL parameter to the query.

Thanks for your answer. I think Im an idiot, where should I find that Href property? What object should I select on the screen to find that? I understand the tutorial, but I can´t find where to look for that.

I´m sure it is because I´m just not familiar with the tool. Can you explain me how to do it click by click, like teaching a 5 year oil kid?
