Need some advise how to implement this (may be someone have example project yet).
So I need to create a page with like Report (with 2 sub groups), for each (last) group I need normal items list + one Text box. So user can enter some value in that text box field and at the end I need to get these values and put in my DB:
GROUP_2
-subgroup1
--item 1 [xxx]
--item 2 [xxx]
--item 3 [xxx]
-subgroup2
--item 1 [xxx]
--item 2 [xxx]
--item 3 [xxx]
GROUP_2
-subgroup1
--item 1 [xxx]
--item 2 [xxx]
--item 3 [xxx]
-subgroup2
--item 1 [xxx]
--item 2 [xxx]
--item 3 [xxx]
any ideas how to implement this?

It sounds as if a 'Report' as provided by the CCS system is not appropriate as I do not believe it has any ability to provide any insert / update functionality. It is not intended for that
I suspect your best approach may be an editable grid probably with added subtemplates to aid in the grouping of the display. You will need a combination of labels and textbox. If it is a complex query you will need to use the custom insert / update functions.
This post http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=78623
and searching on template and block may assist.

I would have an editable grid on the items table.
Displaying the itemas a label and the textbox (and the unique key item for the item)
I would the join in the subgroup and group table(s) and probably follow the Helpfiles example on 'simple reporting with groups.
Have to try this though to see if it works.
I would use the custom update, implied by having a multiple table select.

I am doing it, just for fun, and to know if my advises are any good.........lol
So far it is working for me.....
(based on Internet example db, store_products)
Full story will follow if you express the need.
Some helpfull notes, maybe:
a/ when doing the conditional remember to follow editGrid field naming rules.
b/ conditional showing of category as per Helpfile is on previous read category
add to this the rownumber as a condition...... Why, because it is a grid and for every page you would want to start the first row with the category-subcategory
c/ put the category sub category in the row, followed by < br > and nonbrakingspaces to create the indentation, put each on a panel to hide them ...
Just some ideas
