I'm just a little curious. Are you developing league or custom portal? Any reason why you chose to develop a portal instead of using an open source one??

baseball,

I've created a few community sites and have project files for just about any feature one needs. One example I have been working on for a few months is http://www.meetwny.com/ . Create yourself an account to see the better features. If you wish to try out Personal Messages send them to my accounts, "admin" and "depew_rick".

Although this site probably has more than you are looking for, like the live chat engine, those features could be trimmed off easily enough.

One feature of the way I implemented the site is ALL pages are database driven. The administrator can edit any page using FCKEditor from the Admin Control Panel. There is also a second level of Admin (Moderator) that can edit and remove forum posts and monitor chat rooms only.

Let me know if you are interested and we can discuss compensation. :-)

Hey Walter!

I've been so busy on multiple jobs I haven't really had as much time to hang out here as I'd like. The site is however a decent example of CCS... 100% CCS as a matter of fact.

The chat rooms are an implementation of:
phpFreeChat by Stephane Gully which can be found at http://www.phpfreechat.net

The trick was getting multiple rooms open at the same time. It also opens rooms at specific times, for example we had one open around the final of America Idol last night.

Thanks for the compliments! I'll post it in the Showcase in a few minutes.

Rick
