Must be my idiocy (again) but...

Using CCS 4.0.

I create a new field/column in a database which I have been using for some time.
I then want to create a new search page. The search links to a grid.
I use the search wizard.
The wizard sees the new field and creates the appropriate object on the search page.

HOWEVER

When I try to search on the new field, the search page seems to ignore the content of the field and returns the entire content of my database.

The OLD fields/columns seem to work fine. As far as I can tell there is no problem with the definition of the fields. I even duplicated a functioning field and simply changed its name. The original field worked while the new one failed. It is as though the new field has not been registered in some part of CCS for the purpose of searhcing...

An answer would be wonderful as I am going nuts trying to figure this out and I am under some time pressure.

Thanks a lot
Andrew

The Answer is in the resulting Grid's SQL
You have changed the search to reflect the new database design, probably by reBuildering it, pressing the Refresh button.
Now do it on the grid too.

I Bet the grid's Where parameters are messed up, or not reflecting new dbdesign.

Remember the Search only sets the parms, it is the grid that does the filtering.

Hints:
Project Explorer->Connection Refresh
Properties->DataSource [...]

Hi Walter

Thanks for the super-quick answer. I did rebuild a grid by using one of the other wizards and it all worked. And this applies EVEN if I do not want to display the contents of my new field.

That's a great clue/hint. Now to figure out a no-risk way of refreshing my grid.

Thank You!
Andrew
