Hello all. I wanted to throw this idea out there and see if it stuck.
I was thinking how I would love to have a tutorial on how to encrypt passwords using CCS and Mysql in an already existing database...and how I would pay someone $50 (paypal) to write up a quick, easy to follow one to compensate for the authors time. Then I would post it here.. or it would already be posted in the thread... for everyone else to enjoy.

Perhaps we could have a Topic in each coding language: 'Newbie Tutorials'.

Best idea ever?
Worst idea ever?

Nice idea.......
But,
First come, first paid.....
Everyone starts writing the tutorial, you'll end up with various versions.
Various levels of detail.
Which are you going to choose......pay.

I'll write you one if you like and you can paypal me (again), or not......
More interesting, and I was actualy thinking about this a few days ago....
Would Yes allow us to include a paypal link in our signature with some text like "if you liked this info PAYPAL me"

Walter

Ooh.. love the paypal link in the sig idea.

Ok Walter.. do the tutorial! :)

Will send payment.. then I will post it in a PHP thread with a {Tip} tag.

I think this will get a lot of newbie stuff written and create more business for Yes.

AS far as who gets the money.. the first person to respond to the thread would be first in line...perhaps they would send it to the person requesting the tutorial... then that person could ost it.. and send payment to who they wish.

Awsome idea...

I love being able to reward/thank those that help me. If someone can save me from spending two days pulling my hair out, the least I can do is buy them lunch.

CKroon, [edited: 06/27/2008 ]

Placed the tutorial here
http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=98301

And kept his challenge (thanks) by donating here
http://donate.consultair.eu

(stopped the burn)

@all:

(it works ok in the post, in the sig it is merely displayed and unclickable)

But hey it works! (Of course you can go there and return with all the money still in your pocket!)

Walter
