Greetings
What I need to accomplish:
I have a contract to produce a web application (PHP, MySQL). The app will have approx 7 pages. This includes a login and user account maintenance page. I've completed the requirements gathering (from a functionality and navigation standpoint), created screen mockups and database schema. The database schema currently includes 9 tables though it's not set in stone.
Why I need help:
1) While I have a couple of decades in the IT industry and am proficient in various languages, I'm relatively new to PHP/MySQL and the web (I'm sure you'll agree when you see the screen mockups)
2) I know as much about CodeCharge as can be gleaned in 8 hours and a quick trip through the 3 tutorials.
Why choose CodeCharge?
It appears to generate code with reasonable separation of presentation and logic. (I was able to make my way thru the java and perl that was generated from the tutorials. While not the speediest, it works well)
Of course that is a cursory viewpoint. Based on the size of the community, I'm guessing that the PHP code that is generated is quality as well and a respected PHP developer would be comfortable submitting it to a client. I suppose I'm up a creek without a paddle, if that is not a true statement.
Then again, perhaps the majority of the code is sound and the tweaks are minor to improve it substantially..?
At any rate, it *appears* that CodeCharge might be a viable jumping off (in?) point for a person to learn PHP and complete this project.
How would this mentoring work?
I'm open to suggestions, but I'd like to find an experienced CCS developer (with PHP/MySQL as the primary skill set) to be available 5-10 hours a week for a couple of weeks. I would like to square up the account on a weekly basis, even if the resource time provided is less than 5 hours.
I have control of my schedule, so I'm pretty flexible from a time perspective. Time zone differences are immaterial, if I can wake up to responses to my emails each day and progress based on the input.
If the holdup is on my end, you're under no obligation. To date, it is rare for me to impede the life cycle. I'm not sure how the peripheral payments etc are handled, and I'm sure I've left some necessary details out of this rambling.
Ping me with questions and I'll try to fill in the void(s).
Regards

Hello sudsy,
I'd be willing to mentor. You can look at some of my sites and see I know what I am doing in CCS. In fact, just search these forums for my name, mentecky.
http://www.meetwny.com/ http://www.grifterrock.com/ http://www.mentecky.com/
All of those are MySQL/PHP sites driven by the database. I have no static pages.
You can contact me atmentecky@3rc.com for any needed info.
