I have a link on a record and it contains an email address. When clicked, I would like it to open the local client's email application. In my case, the client is using Entourage. To make it generic would be ideal..ie, determine the default email client and pass the email address to it..
If there's a sample app or documentation showing this, please point me to it...and thanks in advance!

Hi John.. er... where / how do I do that?
I thought perhaps it might be under the <A> Properties (right click on link..) but if it's there I would make a change, I don't see it. Nor do I see anything jump out at me from the properties pane...
Regards

Depends on what type of link you have created.
If it is a static link just click on the 3 dots after the href source and put the mailto:// in front of the e-mail name.
If it comes fron the database you need to edit the html href value for that link to have mailto:// in front of the template value where CCS puts your databse driven e-mail address.
Does that make sense?

BTW
If it is a database value you could probably save the e-mail address in the database with mailto:// placed directly onto the persons address before putting it into the database or maybe on the before show event for each one you want to be an e-mail link. This way you might not have to modify the html.

I editted the link <A> properties.
Text to Display - Static text set to: {email}
Link Address - Static address set to: mailto://{email_Src}
which in the preview shows:
<a href="mailto://{email_Src}?" id="companyemail">{email}</a>
After saving and generating the page, the email address shows up as a link(still), and clicking on the link does open Outlook, however, the TO field is not populated.
Am I getting warmer..?

That is exactly what I needed. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll certainly look there first in the future!
Thanks
