Gallery or something ...
I it possible display images in a format similar to
y
X y
y y y
Where X is the large version of the selected y thumbnail image
All the images are from a Selected item in a grid.

Don't know - never really do anything with eBay
Many Security DVR's display images like that
and that's where my boss got the idea from.

I've just done a product system that has unlimited thumbnails and one main image.
Click on a thumbnail and it becomes the main image.
The layout is master on top i.e.
X
y y y...
Just done it with an update panel, nothing special.
is it significant that is goes...
1
2
3

OK - I do this with an updateable panel.
2 tables in panel one showing the large image the other showing the thumbs
(The thumb table uses a gallery layout so won't run right across the page).
The thumb is an image link and it passes the id to itself.
The Larger image shows an image where the ID is met.
very simple..T

I put mine in individual folders... thumbnails in thumbs full size in images and on upload I make sure they have the same name. Then when I display them I just preface the image link with the correct folder name.

Yep, you can build an upload routine to auto thumb the image and put them 2 images in separate folders and simultaneously create a common link between the 2 (some kind of id - auto generated or not)
Then use the updateable panel to work in a gallery fashion using the common link as the filter.
I can send links if you PM me.
