I've got a problem with the FileUpload component in an edit form when it is inside an update panel.
If I do this, the filename field isn't updated in the database when I update the record.
If the Edit Form is not in an update panel, it works.
I really need the file upload run in an update panel.
Any idea ?

Talk to support - think this is still and issue, at least it was when I asked the question.

The issue is that FileUpload does not work on Update Panel. Update Panel emulate form post using client side JavaScript code. Unfortunately it’s not possible to update files with JavaScript in such case. Please consider using page design where record form is locate output update panel.

So this functionnality is NOT designed to work.
This is very, very annoying cause it force me to change many things in the page design.
