The reason I bring Walter up is half of what you complain about Walter did and at times started... yet you post his name in your signature, making you a hypocrite.

As I stated clearly, Walter and I did not agree on everything. I post his name in my sig to honor his memory in some small way. I won't even bother addressing your false charge of hypocrisy.

Quote mentecky:
I miss Walter, he was my friend... not a message board friend but someone I actually talked to on a regular basis.

ditto

Quote mentecky:
This discussion is pointless. I have talked it over with John and I'll be sending a final newsletter to CCSE people and closing the site. It was good when it was fun but you have taken the fun out of it and these boards.

Seriously? As a result of a conversation in this forum you are closing your site? Wow!

This isn't a conversation... it's an inquisition. I have few rules in my life but I do believe in "If it's not fun don't do it." We're not having fun because a select few feel that because I choose to post my answers on a site I have control over I am somehow wrong and polluting your DNA or whatever.

My, and John's, only incentive here has ever been to help and get that occasional good feeling when someone said THANKS. No one's getting rich here man and you are deluded if you think that's our motivation.

Peace, be well. I hope you have all you wanted.

Rick

I could not agree with Rick more.

As you all know I always sign my posts as "Have Fun". Seems Rick and I have the same motto. It also seems, as I have tried to state, our intentions were only to help our peers the best way we could and have fun doing it and help other to easily distribute their code, ideas, and tips and possibly maybe make a liitle money for thier efforts if they desired. That is how I was approched by Rick and Walter when I got involved at CCSE. I have been blessed since I have had the opportunity to work with two stellar professionals and made two good friends.

The reason I started posting simply links to answers was for no eveil reason. As some folks here know, Rick was fed up with all this junk and was not going to post here any more. I also was miffed at those same issues. However, I chose to at least post here with links to our site. This was percieved by some meatheads here as some evil plot to ruin their little empire.

After This thread, and posting links to answer issues at CCSE and replies to CCSE posts were answered here and I was going back and forth, seemingly like I was suppose to go back and forth where noone had the common courtesy to reply to me where I posted the information I shared. That was the end for me.

I totally support my good friend Rick in this and I think I have done more to honor the memory of my friend Walter, since I took up the work he was doing at CCSElite. I also assisted his family in communicating this communities condolences and best wishes.

So JCC et al. Have fun in your non-diluted world. Gee I wonder if you guys can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Oh and by the way. On the topic of Dilution and Free Exchange of ideas. Did you know that this forum does not allow the post of certain competitors producs name. How's that for non-diluted. :-)

HAVE FUN....

rick - i think its a complete shame that you would close your website on the back of these two threads. i think there is a place for your website and as you have pointed out it is a good way to showcase and test your skills.

i dont see it replacing these forums and that is where you are getting disagreements from some of us here - that in no way diminishes the value of your website or your input into these communities

maybe we are all standing just a bit close to the action and if we stood back a litle we would see that there is no need for such a hasty decision.

anyways, if you do or dont close it down, and you do or dont catch some fish, please do come back and join in here again

John,

I concider you a dear friend and I promise we'll work on projects in the future... especially when I need a total professional that kicks my butt to do backups and version control. Without you hounding me to keep the site in order it probably would have failed long before it actually worked.

damian,

No promises man but you can always email me.

Rick

Now I feel guilty after starting this thread, but it was aimed to Artisteer and CCS integration ...

you should not feel guilty. you were just trying to discuss Artisteer and CCS integration! I and others got off on another heated discussion right in the middle of your thread and I apologize for that. We should have started another thread for our discussion. Again, sorry for that.

Yet another thread Yes should delete so as not to scare off potential customers.

WOW…[LOL]

CCSE guys…

You called yourself “elite” and I made the point to Walter that the name wasn’t right, (he didn’t get it and thought I was having a laugh!)

You missed the point guys – It’s about having ONE place where we all help each other, no superstars!!

It’s not about dilution, it’s about the evolution of what we have.

Come on guys get real! If we all contribute to something it will get better. I use this forum as a support system. I‘ve had advice (good and bad) and I’ve given advice (good and bad) that’s how it is. I have no expectations either way. I just like the idea that there are others out there who might be able to help or at least feel my pain;).

Can’t we all play in the same place, be nice to each other?

Tony

Tony,

This entire thread went off topic and totally overboard and I admit I was part of that. My problem was with a few issues brought up by others and if you scroll up you'll know what they were. I don't need to repeat it all and start this all over again.

The CCS Elite name was not meant to be Me,Walter and John... it was meant to name the community as a whole. John and I respect everyone here. I consider a lot of you friends. Heck I've been here since CCS was a beta.

With that said maybe I didn't pick a great name. I am sure we picked a good direction for the site though.

As far as playing nice in one place... We always have but, I will not accept my or anyone else's professionalism being questioned because we link to a sample on a site we control. We have no ability to post samples here. The other problem I have here is there is no moderation. I've yet to have to edit a post on CCSE, but I guarantee if your professionalism was questioned because your signature had a PayPal link on it.... I'd have edited that comment. That whole Gaza thing never would have happened on a site that is moderated either.

For the most part, John and I have been putting off long delayed samples and products on CCSE. Since I stopped posting here I got one done and John a few. I still won't be posting answers here because what people say about me will be in Google forever and this board is not moderated at all. I'm sure this post will get a few nasty-grams.

I have no issues with anyone here... I have no remorse for anything I have said either. Feha, I apologize for your thread getting hijacked and any part I had in that. This was in no way your fault.

Rick

You know where to find me if you need help. I'm always willing.
