Not sure if this is the right forum...but, I want to password protect an Access database, which I have successfully done. However, when setting it up with CCS, it's not opening the database. The error I'm getting is that it's opened exclusively by another user.

Anyone have a work around?

Thank you!
Edd

CS - is this the same issue as:

The first thing to try is remove the password off the applicatiion and see if you can connect.

Yes, I can connect when I do not have a password on it. No, it doesn't appear to be the same issue. I set up the connection string with username, password...and the error says it's opened exclusively by another user (which I had to do to password protect it, but then I closed out of it). Access is not still running when I'm doing all of this. I can't figure it out!

Evidently, this can happen if IIS can't write the Jet lock file because IUSR_MACHINE doesn't have write permissions to the directory containing the .mdb file.

Check your permissions.

IUSR has write permissions to the directory...without a password the app writes to its heart's content! WIth a password, it's a no go.

Does the MS Access Database contain things other than Tables and Queries? If so try and make a MDE of the MSAccess database (microsoft recommed this) to separate Data and Programs.

No, it's just got a couple of tables, that's it.
