 Creating New Actions? (Templates)

Possibly totally self-evident question:

Is it possible to create new client or server-side 'actions' for HTML that will appear in the pop-up list for events?

In other IDEs I work with there are usually 'templates' one can create for automagically inserting code snippets---like the Actions in CCS. Can these be created?

I've started using popup windows all over the place and it would be much easier/safer if I could simply click on an 'Action' to do this rather than entering JS scripts and on-click events manually each time.

Ideas?

THANKS!

---JC

PS: Yeah, I know I can get 1/2 the way there with JS includes, but I want to keep as much inside the CCS project as I can!

Yes, it is possible to create custom actions.
Varying from simple to very complex.

If brevity is the soul of wit, you're a genius Walter.

Now... anything a bit more specific? (BTW: I did search for things like 'Add New Actions', 'Create Actions', etc..)

Thanks,

---JC

Brief huh:

Search term used "Custom actions"

Simple Actions:
In you CCS directory structure there are Action Sever and Client side.
Some only address like input validations, those I call easy.
Others replace several parts of code in several places adressing, HTML,
JavaScript on the fly SQL modification and so on, these are hard.

The problem with the Actions is they are addictive. Once you start on them
they eat up so much time to get them right (for all flavours of Code
Languages) that one kind of looses the purpose CCS was bought for in the
first place.

The lack of Custom Actions in this forum is a good indication of how many of
us master the technique or even have the time to dive in.

Hmmm... This seems like a no-brainer idea for lots of simple things I want to do. But clearly, at this point anyway, it's not worth all the effort---I've got my hands full just learning the environment.

Pity. I hope YS will do something like this in the near future. The Popuplist example would be a perfect use.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

PM me the code you use for your popup, the snippet, plus a complete HTML page using that snippet.
No guarantees but it might that I use it as a time filler in between thinking sessions, haha
major disadvantage is it being ASP, not my flavour.

My name is Al Newkirk (), I have put together an application dubbed Actioneer (which can be obtained free for beta testing). I am completely revamping my website so I can't offer a download right now (sorry), but if you can find the time to shoot me an email, I will respond with the app and a request for feedback once you use it. Please take the time to test this product, I encourage YesSoftware employees as well. Actioneer Beta v1.0 is a Windows application which supports, Perl, PHP, JSP, ASP, & CFM. Once the site is up lookup for the Actioneer links and advertisements. I will include How-Tos for manual creation as well as help docs for the Actioneer product.
